Obituary For Thomas C. Klem

Of Mount Oliver, passed away peacefully in his home in Eighty-Four, PA on Sunday, December 14, 2025.

Devoted husband of the late Bonnie Klem; loving father to Roger Jacobs (Becky), Shawn Jacobs (Amy), Danielle (David) Price and the late Vaughn Jacobs; grandfather of Jessica, Erika, Tara, Vaughn Jr., Brandon, Bradley, Justin, Jon, Brent, Shawn Jr., Patrick and Lacey; son of the late Herman and Dorothy Klem; brother of his loving siblings Shirley, Dorothy, Carol, Sonny and the late LeEtta, Lois, Ronny and Joe.

Tom served his country with distinction during the Vietnam era, stationed in Thailand where he worked diligently as an equipment specialist for aircraft helicopters. He often recounted his experiences there with fondness, expressing a deep desire to revisit the country that left such an impression on him. After his military service, Tom dedicated many years to road construction, a field where his strong work ethic and hands-on approach were well-known. He was a familiar face on countless projects, helping to build the infrastructure of our communities.

Beyond his professional life, Tom was a man defined by his vibrant spirit and zest for life. To know Tom was to know laughter. He had an infectious humor, always ready with a joke or a witty remark, and his laugh was truly unforgettable. He found immense joy in the simple pleasures: good company, a cold beer in hand, and sports playing on the television. Whether with close family, lifelong friends, or even new acquaintances, Tom was always ready to share a story, a smile, and a moment of genuine camaraderie.

He also leaves behind a cherished legacy in his extensive family, including numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought great light into his life. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday, December 21, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m.
