Obituary For Thomas J. Zoglmann

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and "Pap Pap," Thomas Zoglmann. He passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 21, 2025, after a short and courageous battle with cancer.

Tom was a devoted family man, survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary (Simmons) Zoglmann; loving father to five children, Laurie (Todd) Watkins, Eric (Jackie) Zoglmann, Peter (Nicole) Zoglmann, Amanda (Matt) Falenski, and Matthew Zoglmann; cherished "Pap Pap" to 12 grandchildren, Courtney (Stephen), Haley (Austin), Collin, Isaak, Lucas, Keegan, Zach, Lydia, Izabella, Abbey, Xavier, and Ava; preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mildred (Kirsch) Zoglmann.

Tom was a dedicated employee of Duquesne Light/First Energy for over 35 years before retiring. In his free time, he found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time with his family at the mountain house, working on cars, and enjoying the great outdoors hunting and fishing.

Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 2-7 p.m. Funeral prayer on Monday morning at 9:00. Mass of Christian Burial in Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, Saint Thomas A’ Becket Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Tom's name to VisAbility of Pittsburgh, formerly known as "The Guild for the Blind," https://visability.org/donate/ or to a charity of your choice.

    I'm so sorry to hear about Tom's passing. Not forget the good times we had having the Zoglmann's as neighbors. One of the funniest things is when my dad Joe would wait for the Ohio State Penn State game just to call Tom depending on who won of course. Rest in peace Tom you've earned it.     So sorry to hear about Tom. He was my second cousin and a year ahead of me at St Basils. Our families often visited back and forth and I was at his home on Hornaday Road many times. We always had a good time on those visits. We went separate ways as adults, as many do, but reconnected on Facebook a few years ago. We exchanged messages and Christmas cards and got caught up a bit on our lives. Rest in peace, my cousin
