Obituary For Thomas Kammermeier

Age 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 9, 2021, of Bethel Park formerly of Brentwood.

Beloved husband of 55 years to Donna (Heyer) Kammermeier; loving father of Tracey Kammermeier (Ralph Schwartzmiller) and Jodie Yeager; adored Pappy of Payton and Kaleb Yeager and Shannon and Nick Schwartzmiller; son of the late Joseph and Estelle Kammermeier; brother-in-law of Bill and Nancy Rebholz; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Tom was a United States Army veteran, lifetime member of the Brentwood Volunteer Fire Department (DC1), and served as the Superintendent of Public Works of Brentwood Boro for over seventeen years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends on well deserved vacations. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 2-8 p.m., where the blessing will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Due to the current public health crisis, masks and social distancing guidelines must be adhered to. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Dementia Society of America, 188 N. Main Street, PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901.

    Tom You will always be Tommy to me ----even though as we got older, I had to get use to calling you Tom. So many memories........ when I was a little girl & stayed on "vacations" at your house. You would babysit me & yes to this day,tease me about changing my diapers. I remember my bed was in a dresser drawer & NO, PEOPLE -----it wasn't closed ! It was in the early 50's and that's where you slept when there wasn't an extra bed. I will always remember all the Thanksgivings & Christmas Eve's when you & your Mom & Dad would come over in the middle of the night to watch Sandy & I open our gifts in the morning. So many good thoughts of childhood. I loved when you would say how crazy I was & was just like my mom. I felt so honored that she was always remembered by you. My Handsome cousin. I will forever miss you & always love you. May you rest in peace. I will now have another guardian angel to watch over me. Carol
