Obituary For Thomas S. Albanesi

Age 95, of Whitehall, formerly of Mount Oliver and North Side, passed away on December 15, 2021. Husband of the late Ruth Marie for 61 years; father of Mary Lou, Thomas, Jr. (Ann), Richard, Karen (Charles) Albanesi-Toal, and the late Gail Ann (Ralph) Schwartzmiller; cherished Pap of numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded into heaven by his parents, Tarquino and Molly (Pivirotto), brothers Vincent and Arthur, and sister Rita. Survived by brother Robert (Lorraine) of Naples, FL. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins. Tom was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in the Pacific. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Tom was a Certified Public Accountant who served his clients for almost 70 years with care and fidelity. He was an avid golfer and bowler for many decades and rarely missed watching a Pirates, Steelers, or Pitt Panthers football game. Tom was a long-time member of St. Albert the Great Parish after having previously been a long-time active member of St. Canice Parish. He was known for always having his camera, World War II hat, and a repertoire of jokes with him at all times. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends, co-workers, and clients. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, from 2-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Wednesday morning at 9:45. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Albert the Great Church at 10:30 a.m. Family suggests donations to either the Salvation Army of Western Pennsylvania or Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Albert the Great, 3198 Schieck Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15227
