Obituary For Valeta L. Schneider

Age 94, passed away peacefully at Providence Point, surrounded by the love of family and friends who cherished her warmth, humor, and kindness on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

Born and raised in Texas, Valeta was a proud Texan through and through. It was in Dallas that she met the love of her life, Bill Schneider, who was serving in the U.S. Air Force. Together they built a beautiful life centered on love, laughter, and family. Bill preceded her in death in 2013, and they are now joyfully reunited.

Valeta’s intelligence and determination shone early-she graduated as valedictorian of her high school class-and her sharp mind remained vibrant throughout her life. Yet it was her heart that truly defined her. She had a way of making everyone around her feel valued, loved, and at ease. Her Southern drawl, quick wit, and gentle nature became part of what made her so unforgettable.

At Providence Point, Valeta’s compassion and sense of humor brightened the lives of residents and staff alike. She was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan and cheered them on with true Texas pride, no matter the season’s outcome.

Beloved wife of 59 years to the late William J. Schneider. Valeta is survived by her loving children, Lynda Schneider (Len Zon), Bill (Beth) Schneider, Lisa Schneider (Jeff Finfrock), and Lori Schneider (Ron Jones); cherished Gram of Becky, Tyler, Jake, Josh, Justin, Brittany, Travis, Maya and Lila; proud Great-Gram of Cameron, Jace, Dane, Reese, Jack, Brooks, Brody and Sloane. Her family takes comfort in knowing her legacy lives on through the love and laughter she shared with each of them.

She lived with love, laughed with grace, and left the world brighter than she found.

Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Friday, October 17, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Saturday morning at 8:30. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Benedict the Abbot Church - St. John XXIII Parish at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions in Valeta's memory to St. Benedict the Abbot Church, 120 Abington Drive, McMurray, PA 15317 or a charity of your choice.

Velita and I were neighbors in Peters Township where we played BRIDGE together. And then we both moved to Providence point where we became neighbors once again. I would see her in personal care when I went to visit my sister-in-law who was in personal care as well and she always had her beautiful smile when she saw me. I will miss her— a warm and wonderful woman Lois Singleton Providence point Apartment 630

A few years back, I had the privilege of coming to know Valeta through Sabika jewelry. I was a Consultant and I received an email notification that she had purchased from my website. I responded and sent her an email thanking her. That was the beginning of a beautiful but oh too short friendship. She would watch my FB Sabika "Lives" and text and email and call me. We had so much fun enjoying and sharing our love of Sabika. She was always so kind, so thoughtful and so wise. We even shared the same birthday only years apart. I will always think of her on "our" shared birthday.❤️ She graced this earth with compassion, love, a sense of humor, a great wisdom and a calm gentleness. She made a profound impact on me and I will miss her. One beautiful bright and shining Texas star has made it to her eternal destination and one day...I will see her again for a beautiful birthday reunion! My deepest condolences to the family. She was an original and deeply loved.. My Mom would always say, "Bye for now". So, "Bye for now, Valeta." You'll always be in my heart. Much love, Tracey Foust

I met Valeta at Providence Point. She was always so nice always had a smile on her face. Everytime i took her Meds into her she would say "take a few piece of candy" I would always say "no I'm on a diet I'm too fat" she but always say "no you're not you look fine the way you are" she always had the best candy. She lit up a room with a beautiful smile. She was always out spoken and very friendly. She will be missed and prayers to the schneider family. Until we meest again Mrs. Val

My deepest condolences to the Schneider family. Mrs Valeta was an amazing woman who created such a beautiful family. Although I did not get the privilege of meeting her, I heard lovely stories from Lisa. May she rest peacefully in Heaven.❤️ Judy Gallmon
