Kienic, Vera Teresa

Age 84, on Thursday, September 18, 2014 of Brookline.

Daughter of the late Marie Buchko; sister of Clara Ruschmeyer, Marilyn Giehll, Richard Buchko, Debbie Feth, Glenn Scholten and the late Robert Rivet, John "Red" Rivet and Jeep Scholten. Vera retired after 41 years as an Executive Secretary to the head nurse at Children's Hospital. Following her retirement, she enjoyed her life and caring for her beloved animals. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Rd., Brentwood 15227, Sunday from 1-8 pm where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am.

    To the family of Vera, I wish to express my condolences. I will always remember her as a very kind woman who was resilient in the face of her challenges. We spoke of many things but most often about her beloved cats and she always inquired about my son and his cat. It was my privilege to care of her. Dr. John Kokales
