Obituary For Vincent "Vince" Polis

June 20, 1946 - August 2, 2017

Polis, Vince "Jim" On Wednesday, August 2, 2017, of Carrick.

Beloved husband of Beryl L. Polis; loving stepfather of Heather (Jeff) Powell; father of Annamarie (Mike) Matuszewski and Vincent (Rachael) Polis; loving Pappy of Alec, Logen, Natalie, Brynn, Lily and Abraham; son of the late Mariano and Candida Polis; brother of Phyllis (the late Pat) Falconio, Patricia (Benny) Provenzano, Eileen (Tom Flaherty) Kelly and the late Chris (survived by Frank) Packard and Marino (survived by Cindy) Polis. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Vince was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, a member of Laborers Local Union 1058, and an avid collector of trains and enjoyed spending time in his local train club. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Sunday from 1-8 p.m. where a blessing service will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. Burial will be held in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with military honors.
