Age 89, on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, of Pleasant Hills and South Park. Beloved wife of the late Vincent J. Kovalchick; loving mom of Joe (Denise) Kovalchick, Grace (Paul) Byrnes and Jamie (Krista) Kovalchick; proud grandma of Rob (Danielle), Dan (Erin), Julie (Drew), Margaret, Christine, Mason, Emma and Libby; great-grandmother of Zachary, Tyler, Archer and Joey; sister of Paul (the late Olivia) Adair, Laurie (Dennis) O'Connor and the late Robert (Mary Jean) Adair and the late James (survived by Gerry) Adair. Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends. Virginia had a long and impactful career as a nurse. She worked at various hospitals including Divine Providence and Jefferson Hospital. She was an avid card player and was happiest spending time with her family. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday, February 9, 2025 from 11:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Funeral prayer at the funeral home on Monday morning at 9:00. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Valentine Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held privately.
