Obituary For Virginia "Ginny" McKeen

Age 77, of Whitehall, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, April 14, 2020.

Beloved wife of 58 years to James S. McKeen, Jr.; loving mother of Michael William McKeen of Columbus, OH and Marla Joy (Paul) Bruschi of Brentwood; grandmother of Paul James Bruschi and Kellie Lynne Bruschi; dear daughter of the late Robert J., Jr. and Elsie (Gunst) Tweedie; sister of Carolynn (Herbert) Johnson; sister-in-law of Alice and James Yearsley; caring aunt of many nieces and nephews. Ginny was born in Pittsburgh on August 21, 1943 and attended school in the Mt. Lebanon School District where she graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School. She attended college at Point Park University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. After her marriage, she and her husband have lived in the Baldwin-Whitehall area. Ginny was dedicated to Whitehall United Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon, auditor and a member of the bell choir. She volunteered many years with the Brentwood Meals on Wheels where she was Vice-President. She and her husband organized and coach the girls 12U softball team. She also was the past President of the Phenott Women’s Civic Organization. A private visitation will be held for the immediately family only at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 followed by a private burial in Jefferson Memorial Park. Because of restrictions due to the corona virus outbreak, a public viewing and funeral service will not be held at this time, but a memorial service will be scheduled when family and friends can safely gather. In lieu of flowers family requests donations be made to Heartland Hospice, 750 Holiday Drive #110, Pittsburgh, PA 15220.
