Obituary For William "Bill" Lawrence Lilley

William "Bill" Lawrence Lilley, age 76, of Jefferson Hills, formerly of Uniontown, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 in Rhodes, Greece while on a cruise to Greece/Egypt.

Beloved husband of 52 years to Anna Louise (Benedetti) Lilley; loving father of Joseph W. Lilley and April Lynn (Michael) Ostovich; proud grandfather of Mila and Nikoli Ostovich and Eliana and Evelio Lilley; brother of Bryan James Lilley; brother-in-law of Fred, Angela, Tony (MaryJo) and Arlene (Dietz). Also survived by niece, Marlana and nephews, Dalton, Dylan, Anthony (Rachel), Michael (Rachael) and great nephew Colter.

Bill was a 1967 Alumni of South Union High School in Uniontown. He worked at the local McDonald’s and was part of the first Big Mac made. An Army Vietnam Veteran, he was discharged in 1972 and bought a 1967 Corvette upon returning to the states. It was because of this Corvette that led him to meet the love of his life Anna. He escorted her to her sorority’s Lilac Ball and married her in 1974.

Bill took NASCAR fan to the extreme. Building and driving a Baby Grand Stockcar at Motordrome Speedway for a few years. He enjoyed traveling to many races throughout the USA especially two times to Daytona Florida. He had the ability to name year, make and model of any automobile and he was a great mechanic.

His occupation was that of a Senior Telecommunications Engineer, who knew the Telephone Industry like the back of his hand. Bill always amused everyone with his avid storytelling. Bill and Anna loved to travel, adding on many road trips and cruises to their bucket lists.

Family and friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 2-8 p.m. Committal prayers and military honors will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025 at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at 10:00 a.m. If you plan on attending, please arrive at the funeral home before 9:00 a.m. to join the procession.
