Obituary For William G. Baldwin

November 14, 1948 - January 10, 2019

Baldwin, William G., age 70, better known to family and friends as "Bill", passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019 from his long battle against cancer. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 37 years Michele (Gillespie); daughter, Angela "Angel" Baldwin; sister, MaryAnn (Fred) Glatzel; many cousins, in-laws, and nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his great nieces and nephews, friends and coworkers. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Richard and Genevieve (Woods) and his brother, Richard (Judy). Bill was an Army veteran and served his country in the Vietnam War. He grew up in the Carnegie area of Pittsburgh before moving to Carrick in 1986 with his wife Michele. He worked for many years at AT&T before retiring from the Federal Reserve Bank. He loved playing computer games, dungeons and dragons, and watching Jeopardy with his wife and daughter. He had a very long fight against cancer but he fought hard until the very end. He was loved by everyone he came in contact with. The world lost an amazing man. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. and Monday, January 14, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer will be held on Tuesday morning at 9:00. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Pamphilus Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at 12:30 p.m.
