February 11, 1925 - May 6, 2014

Schneider, William H. "Butch"

Age 89, on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, of Bon Air.

Loving husband of 67 yrs. to Marian D. (Mercurio); beloved father of Elaine (John) Johnston, Harry "Butch" and Mark (Brenda) Schneider; proud grandfather of Lauren (Jaime), Liza (Lucas), Monique, Matthew, Jessica and Cole; son of the late Harry Schneider and Louise Cowan; brother of Bernard (Ann), Claire (the late Melvin) Bennett and the late Harry Schneider, Jr.; also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bill was a WWII Veteran in the US Navy Armed Guard, a long-time employee of Duquesne Brewery and South Park Game Preserve, where he earned the name "Buffalo Bill." Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Thursday from 6-9 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. If desired, family suggests contributions to Alzheimer's Association - Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 1100 Liberty Ave., Suite E-201, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.

    Aunt Marian, Elaine,Butch, Mark and families, I f you have ever had a favorite Aunt or Uncle in your life, Uncle Bill was mine. He was so loving,funny and just the greatest man. I just adored his smiling eyes and the way he teased us all when we were kids. He will be to me, my most favorite Uncle of all time. You have my deepest sympathy and love.
