Obituary For William J. Fortwangler

May 1, 1934 - August 6, 2015

Fortwangler, William J. Age 81, on Thursday, August 6, 2015, of Bon Air, formerly of Hazelwood.

Beloved husband of 59 years to Rose Marie (Skowran); father of Daniel J. (Jean), Constance M. (Robert) Dougher and William P. (Karla); grandfather of Danielle, Nicole, Andrew, Meaghan and Caitlin; great-grandfather of Andrew; brother of the late Leo Donald (survived by Terry) Fortwangler; brother-in-law of Helen (Chuck) Gidel and Tillie (Bill) Crouse. Bill was a graduate of Duquesne University. He retired from Carbidie Corp., was an avid sports fan and belonged to the South Park Senior Golf League. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Rd., Brentwood 15227, Sunday from 2-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Monday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. John Vianney Church at 10:00 a.m. If desired, family suggests contributions to St. John Vianney Parish, 823 Climax St., Pittsburgh, PA 15210.     Dear Rose So many memories of Bill....me in his hand-me-down clothes....altar boys at St. Stephen's.... hanging out with him when he was in "exile" in Mt. Lebanon. Sorry we can't be here at this time, but know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Bud & Audrey
