Obituary For William J. Parker

February 29, 1936 - August 8, 2017

Parker, William J., age 81, of Carrick, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017. Born on February 29, 1936 to the late William and Wanda Parker. Husband of 14 years to Jacqueline Cameron; predeceased by his wife of 35 years, the late Nance Parker; loving father of Debra (James Dubina) of Canonsburg, William (Denise) of Canonsburg, and Bruce (Nancy) of Coraopolis; step-father of Deborah (Roy Maleski) of Carrick, Sherrie (Ernest Kubick) of Carrick and Kevin (Kayla) Cameron of Carrick; brother to the late John (survived by Kathleen) Parker. Also survived by eight grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Bill was a Firefighter for the City of Pittsburgh, starting his career in Hays and retiring from Fire Company #23 of Carrick. He was a carpenter by trade, but his love was representing Santa Claus at many local parades and Christmas functions. He was loved and will be missed by many.

Relatives and friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. and Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where a blessing service will be held on Monday morning at 11:00. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Hazelwood.
