Obituary For William J. Strott, Jr.

March 28, 1927 - December 3, 2018

Strott, William J., Jr. Age 91, peacefully surrounded by his family, on Monday, December 3, 2018, of Whitehall.

Beloved husband of 68 years to Dorothy H. (Houston); loving dad of Lari (Robert) Galer, Gregg (Maryanne Roegiers), Dana (Robert) Sobeck and Doug (Jennifer Scott); proud Bampap and Grandpa to Jason (Emily) Sobeck, Cori and Allie Sobeck, Collin (Shanna) Galer and Katharine Roegiers ; great-grandfather of five; brother-in-law of Ethel (the late Howard) Henning; also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and the Johnson family. Bill proudly served his country in the US Navy. He fostered relationships well beyond his own family. His perpetual optimism affected everyone he encountered in life. He was a loyal fan of Pittsburgh sports, loved to dance, an avid Bugs Bunny fan, and specialized in terrible jokes. He was at his happiest being with his wife, kids, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. A memorial reception will be held at The Whitehall House, located at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Thursday, December 6, 2018, from 6-9 p.m. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to The Scheuermann's Disease Foundation, P.O. Box 972, McMurray, PA 15317 or www.SDFund.org.
