Obituary For Alice R. Torisky

February 22, 1925 - March 3, 2017

Torisky, Alice Ruth "Bubba" Age 92, on Friday, March 3, 2017, of Brentwood.

Beloved mother and grandmother of: son, Mark (Donna) Torisky, daughter, Judy (David) Wenzel, son-in-law, Gregg (Shawn) Johnston, grandchildren, Michael (Emily) Anuszkiewicz, Bethany (Jeffrey) Szumigale, Mark Torisky, Dale Johnston and great-grandchild Aiden Szumigale. She is predeceased by her husband, Francis H. Torisky, her daughter, Nancy Johnston, her parents, Joseph and Carrie Clemens and her brothers, Joseph, Bertrand, Mark and Lawrence Clemens. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Alice was a long standing member of St. Canice/St. John Vianney Church her entire life. She was a member of the Women's Guild. Alice did volunteer work at her church and St. Paul's Monastery over the years. Alice worked at Norwood Food Service and then was a wonderful nanny to some of her grandchildren. One of her greatest pleasures was family activities and celebrations. Alice lived life to the fullest until she fell ill at her favorite daytime place where she truly enjoyed the company of her friends, LifeSpan Senior Center in Knoxville. Alice spent her last days at the Family Hospice & Palliative Care Center. The staff was very compassionate and provided excellent care. She was loved deeply and will be missed by her family and friends. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Monday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Sylvester Church at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to: Life Span-Knoxville Center, 320 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh PA 15210 or Family Hospice & Palliative Care, 50 Moffett Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15243.

    Dear Alice, A gentle, sweet, fun loving lady who loved to lunch at Red Lobster and shopping, O'Kee!, Do'Kee!:):):)!!!! Her favorite ditty!!! Chuck and I always enjoyed your company and joyful spirit !!! We will miss you!! May you rest in peace with your family of angels!!!! God Bless!!
