Obituary For Anna Marie Hustava

July 19, 1941 - May 6, 2014

Hustava, Anna Marie (Cioffi)

Age 72, on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, of Whitehall, joined her late husband, Ken, and her parents John and Harriet Cioffi in Heaven.

Ann was the cherished mother of Julie Hustava, Ken (Rita) Hustava, Jennifer (Rick) Seitzinger and Kerry Hustava; the adored and revered "Gram" of Nicole (John) Filby, Alesia and Jessica Wachinski, Michael and Thomas Hustava and Madison and Tarren Seitzinger; the proud "G.G." to Avery and Addison Filby; also survived by her four siblings, John (Bonnie) Cioffi, Joe (Donna) Cioffi, Fred Cioffi and Gay Cioffi (Mark Obenhaus) and she treasured being "Aunt Annie" to many nieces and nephews. Born July 19, 1941, she attended South Hills High School and on February 20, 1960, married Ken Hustava. After raising four children, Ann went back to school to study gerontology. She then went to work for LifeSpan where she truly cared about all of the people she met and worked with. Ann valiantly battled cancer for more than 12 years. As in all things, she persevered and remained fiercely independent. Over the past few weeks, her family was blessed to hear many wonderful stories and memories her friends and co-workers shared. Ann meant so much to so many. She was always the first to lend a helping hand, she was a fabulous cook and loved nothing more than having a house full of people to feed. Every Sunday she made dinner for the whole family. Everyone was welcome and there was always room for anyone who happened to drop in. Laughter and love abounded in Ann's home. She was the matriarch of her large family. She will be missed immensely. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Friday at 12:15 pm. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Gabriel of The Sorrowful Virgin Church at 1:00 pm. If desired, family suggests contributions to Family Hospice and Palliative Care, 50 Moffett Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15243.
