Obituary For Anthony F. Braunstein

July 1, 1965 - May 15, 2017

Braunstein, Anthony F., age 51, surrounded by his family and friends, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, May 15, 2017 of Baldwin. Beloved husband of Dana (Chase); father of Anthony, Abbey, Matthew and Olivia Braunstein; pap pap of Hailey Braunstein; loving son of the late Herman and Marcella Braunstein; brother of Thomas (Edith), Michael (Linda), Marcy (David Jones), Diane (John) Curry, Laura (Dale) Wiggins and Mary Ann (Robert) Sweeny; son-in-law of Carol Chase; brother-in-law of Dawna (Gabe) Ridgeway. Also survived by his best friend Ron Kinzel and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Born on the North Side of Pittsburgh, Anthony graduated from North Catholic High School. He worked for Eat 'n Park for 30 years; most recently as General Manager of the restaurant in Whitehall. Anthony was diagnosed with Glioblastoma brain cancer in December of 2015 and was loved so much by so many that it was frequently said "if love could cure cancer, he would have it beat". He was devoted to his family and loved the Lord very much by putting his Christian faith into practice on a daily basis. His warm smile, huge heart and great sense of humor will not be soon forgotten. The Braunstein family want to thank his friends and coworkers, Eat 'n Park Hospitality Group, and the local community for their love and support in fundraising efforts and the many acts of kindness. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday and Friday, May 18 & 19 from 3-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Saturday morning at 10:00. Funeral service in The Log Church (formerly Hilltop Baptist) at 11:00 a.m.
