Of Baldwin Borough, died on November 8, 2022 at the age of 93. She was born on August 14, 1929 to Dr. Ellsworth and Lillian Keener in Whitehall Borough. She married Michael P. Matesic on June 30, 1952 and they had four children and two granddaughters. Barbara is survived by three of her four children, Mark Matesic (deceased), Michele Morgan, Lisa (Larry) Sorochman and Michael Mark Matesic; her two granddaughters, Lindsey Matesic and Cheyanne Sorochman; and her brother, David (Dianne) Keener and sister, Suzanne Lutz. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Barbara graduated from Baldwin High School and attended Mt. Mercy College. She owned and operated Matesic & Brose, a floral shop next to St. Joseph's Hospital in South Side. Upon her spouse's passing, she also owned and operated the family business, Matesic's Cafe' on Carson Street until it's closing. Barbara was a fantastic cook and homemaker. She especially enjoyed preparing recipes from her Julia Child cookbook. She was a member of Baldwin Borough Women's Club and best known for her role as "Goldie" in a 1920's themed event for the club. She also loved her doggies, Nikki, Amber and Scottie. There will be no visitation, a private funeral mass will be held for family and friends followed by a Christian burial in St. Wendelin Cemetery.
