Obituary For Barbara Ann Chichwak

May 8, 1945 - October 3, 2017

72, of Louisville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Baptist Health Louisville with her family be her side.

She was born May 8, 1945 in Pittsburgh to John M. and Ruth M. Augustine Maxwell. Her stepfather was John Maxwell.

Barbara graduated from St. Wendelin High School and worked as a receptionist for Gordon Schircker Insurance Agency and Administrative Assistant as well as Thompson Associates before retiring.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Lexington Road in Louisville. Barbara was a regional director for Intercambio in the 1980's and 90's which was an exchange program with Mexico and Latin American countries and hosted two students from Mexico and El Salvador with her husband and son.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her sister (Judith Miller) and her brother Michael Augustine.

She is survived by her loving husband of 51 and a half years, Michael B. Chichwak and son, Michael Chichwak II of Charlotte, NC and niece and nephews, Barbara Crouse (Tom), Nancy Wiser (Peter), Cathy Adams (Kirt), Chrissy Hedges (Kenny) William Chichwak (Ginger), Sean Augustine (Lisa), David Miller (Julie) Steve Miller (Lou).

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, October 7 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 3345 Lexington Road with burial to follow in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pittsburgh, PA Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10 and Wednesday, October 11 at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227.
