Age 68, passed peacefully surrounded by her three children, on Thursday, November 10, 2022, of the South Hills formerly of Brookline. Loving wife of the late Arthur J. Burgess; cherished mother of Jamie (Sean) Grubbs, Matthew (Krystal) Burgess and Lauren Burgess; fun-loving Mammaw of Emery, Nicholas, Karleigh and Mason; daughter of the late Edward and Irene Doyle; sister of Dennis, John, Lawrence, Joseph and the late Thomas. Also survived by her extended family and friends. Barb was a devoted nurse for 42 years. She was an avid fan of the Steelers, Penguins and M&M's. Barb took pride in her work often leaving a mark on anyone she met. Her true joy in life was spending time with her family and those she considered family. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Wednesday morning at 9:15 a.m Mass of Christian Burial in Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church at 10:00 a.m. She will be interred at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with her husband on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Barb's family would ask that you consider giving the gift of life through organ and blood donations.
