Obituary For Barbara M. Ruggieri

Age 88, of Baldwin, was called home by her Lord and savior, unexpectedly, but without illness, on Tuesday morning, December 28, 2021.
She has been joyfully reunited with her husband of 47 years, Francis "Franny" Ruggieri, as well as her mother, Eunice Johler; father, James Turney; and siblings, Jim Turney, Irene Obritz, Betty Schneider, and Jack Johler. Barb is survived by her sister Eunice Williams; her three children, Francis (Lisa) Ruggieri, Caryn (Mark) Christie, Jamie (Linda) Ruggieri; and her seven grandchildren, Brendan, Connor & Aubree Freely; Colin Ruggieri; and Ally, Angela & Annalise Ruggieri. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly as children, as well as her dearest friend, Dianne Mastascusa. As Barb and Franny’s married life and family grew, she was happy to primarily be a homemaker and especially to be a doting and caregiving Nana to her grandchildren. Barb and Franny spent their lives involved with neighbors, friends and their church (St. Albert the Great). She will be missed by her family, but they also are happy she’s been reunited with the love of her life, and family that’s gone before her. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday, January 2, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Monday morning at 9:45. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Albert the Great Church at 10:30 a.m.

Sending love and light in honor of this beautiful lady. She cared so deeply and so well for my grandmother, her sister Betty. I will forever treasure our visits and chats in the last year of my Grandma's life. Aunt Barb was truly one of a kind. Much love to her kids and grandkids. ~ Colleen Frease
