Pitek, Bernadette Rose (Piontek), age 90, on Friday, May 12, 2017 of Baldwin. Beloved wife of the late John F. Pitek; loving mother of Bernadette (Ray) Michenzi, Francis (Mary Ann) Pitek and John (Charlene) Pitek; proud grandmother of 7 and great-grandmother of 6; sister of Rose (Mel) Karaica, Josephine (Regis) Hennessy and the late Mary (Edward) Szymkowiak, Theresa (Carl) Sluganski and Antoinette (Andrew) Pavlick. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. After working many years for Bell Telephone, Bernadette devoted countless hours volunteering at Southside Hospital. She also was a lifetime member of the Slovak Catholic Sokols. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Friday morning at 9:00.
