April 23, 1922 - June 30, 2016

Peters, Betty Jane Age 94, daughter of the late Marie Becker and William Hiller, went home to the Lord on June 30, 2016.

Loving mother of Jack W. (Susan) Peters, James H. (Geraldine) Peters and Patricia J. (Larry) McNorton; survived by grandchildren J. Eric (Holly) and Patrick Peters, Meghan Miesel, Elizabeth Brown and Christian (Kayla) Brown and great-grandchildren Jack F., Remington and Avalon Peters and Elyse Miesel, as well as cousin and lifelong friend Grace Semon and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack. F. Peters, sister Virginia Williamson and brother Robert Hiller. Betty was a long-time resident of Brentwood and former employee of Schneider's Dairy. She was a woman of faith and a devoted member of St. Sylvester's Parish, and loved singing in the choir. She had many interests including sewing, cooking, and gardening. Her later years were made enjoyable by the friendship and companionship of the late Richard Rump. If asked, she would say that her most pleasant hours were summer afternoons spent reading on her beloved front porch. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her loving nature, her generosity, her sense of fun, and her strength in face of misfortune. She was our inspiration and blessing. The family wishes to thank Jennifer Welker, devoted companion, for her loving care, and the staff of ManorCare Whitehall for the excellent medical care and attention given. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Wednesday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Sylvester Church at 10:00 am.
