Obituary For Betty Judge Sarver

Age 100, passed peacefully on November 4, 2021, at The Sheridan at Bethel Park. Beloved wife of the late Earl W. Sarver; sister-in-law of the late Audrey Sarver Rice; cherished aunt of Alan (Pat) Rice of Mentor, OH, Melanie (Barry) Kirby of Minneapolis, MN and Jane (Jim) Carmassi of South Park, PA. Betty is also survived by cousins Thomas (Margaret) Crowley of Wexford, PA, Maureen Crowley of Whitehall, PA, and Dr. David Crowley of Oldsmar, FL. BJ was a proud Alcoa, Inc. employee of 32 years and retired in 1975. She loved her extended family dearly and was a member of Mt. Lebanon Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Thank you to the Senior Adult Ministry Program for the help they provided BJ, especially Linda Pokrajc, Laura Duffy and Marilyn Beckstrom. Also, a special thank you to good friend Jo-Anne Goode. Family and friends will be received Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at John F. Slater Funeral Home, 4201 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA, 15227, 412-881-4100. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 12, 2021 at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, Betty's family suggests donating to Mt. Lebanon Evangelical Presbyterian Church Senior Adult Ministry Program, 255 Washington Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15216.

    BJ will forever be in my heart. 61 years age difference, but she was a special friend. Our paths crossed in a special and unique way, and I'm blessed to have known her. My sympathies to the family.

    Marilyn Beckstrom

    I was sorry to learn of the passing of our dear friend, Betty. She was an amazing lady, small in stature but a powerhouse of energy and determination as evidenced by her reaching her 100th earthly birthday. She now has a heavenly birthday which she will enjoy for eternity! I am thankful that I was able to know Betty during her time on earth. I know she will be much missed. Her family will remain in my prayers as they journey through the weeks ahead. ~ Marilyn Beckstrom

    BJ was a customer of ours when I worked at MJ Automotive. Well, to me she was more than a customer, as she shared so many stories with me regarding her past work experiences as well as her family. She is such a good soul with a heart of gold.
