Obituary For Bob Guidish

June 11, 1959 - February 18, 2019

Guidish, Robert "Bob", age 59, of South Park, passed away on February 18, 2019 after his courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of 35 years to Patti (Perlick); adored father of Tyler, Samantha and Spencer; brother of Tom (MaryAnn) and Patty; preceded in death by his parents Tom and Jeanette (Beck) Guidish. Bob was an amazing husband, father, and friend, well-liked by all who met him. His smile and easy-going demeanor made strangers instantly feel like friends. Bob was charismatic, funny, and always the life of the party. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, including Steeler tailgates and frequent getaways trips. Bob enjoyed a long-term sales career in the chocolate industry, where he earned the title of National Sales MVP along with the nickname "Chocolate Bob". He spent time traveling the world and truly living life to the fullest. Bob will be missed by many. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, PA 15227 on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 2-8 p.m. where a blessing service will be held on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Richard Bloch Foundation at Blochcancer.org, a cancer organization that helps to find hope for patients and families.

Condolences

Dear Patti and children, No words can take away the feeling of loss that you are experiencing. I know from losing my daughter to her battle with cancer just a little over a year ago. Life will never be the same. But, in time, and it does take time, it will get easier. Iâ??m so glad that we were able to visit with Bobby on his last trip to Houston. We talked about all kinds of things and reminisced about our childhoods, parents and Grandma Beck. God bless you all and give you peace. Sincerely, Bonnie (Beck) and Doug Kennard

I heard the sad news on Monday. I was terribly sad to hear the tragic news. I have known Bob since 20000. I feel I know the Guidish family even though we have never met..... Bob always spoke so lovingly of the children and his adoring wife. Just like the other comments Bob was always upbeat and light hearted. Itâ??s with a heavy heart that we wish him a fond farewell today. His wit - not so much charm! Will always be with his friends and loving family. I will miss seeing him around. Colin Colin Garner. I have known Bob and his family for over 25 years. Originally it was a business relationship that soon became a personal friendship. He was a good family man that knew how to enjoy life. He had an out sized and caring personality. My deepest sympathies to the Guidish and Perlick families

Dear Patti, Tyler, Samantha, Spencer, Bob was liked by many as a family man, a friend, a professional, a lively entertainer and an appreciated member of any team he signed for. He truly made an impression when he was hit by this terrible verdict that took him away from us way too early... the courage and optimism he carried all the way through set an example for us all and will forever leave us with warm memories of the great person he was. Our heartfelt condolences go out to you. Tom De Gres (former General Mgr Debelis Kenosha)

I had the pleasure of meeting Bob several times from my father in law Tom Guidish. He was always very outgoing and was someone you were drawn to. The little time I spend with him will be cherished always and he will be greatly missed. Rest well my friend.

Dear Patti, Tyler, Samantha, Spencer, Family & Friends: Please accept my sincere condolences on behalf of myself, Bob's friends at Barry Callebaut & the Cocoa Industry at large: Bob will be truly missed; a very successful and well liked friend passed away. He was the 'glue' in our team: Always able to create an inclusive & positive environment. Going to miss his laughs, his straightforwardness (something Dutch appreciate) and sincere interest in others. The way Bob lived his life is an example for me. He truly enjoyed being with his family, travel the world and advise customers on cocoa along the way.... We can't imagine a cocoa world without Bob. I am grateful I could see Bob just 10 days ago. I want you to know that we are here for you during this difficult time. Warmest regards, Hugo â??
