Age 59 of Baldwin, formerly of Brentwood, on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with lymphoma. Bruce was born April 9, 1963 to Jerome B. and Rita (Gorczyca) Kautz both of whom preceded him in death. Bruce was the loving husband of Cynthia (Nedley) Kautz and step father of Victor Owens (fiancée Stacie Kurhan) and Jennifer (Bryan) Lucarelli. He dearly loved his grandchildren Ava, Lena and Syenna Lucarelli and Rylie Lynn and Aubrie Rose Owens. Bruce is survived by his loving sisters Susan (Steven) Smith, Gerri Ann (John) Coggins, and Amy (Mark) Nadorlik. His only brother, Scott Kautz, preceded him in death. Bruce is also survived by many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Bruce graduated from Brentwood High School and Rosedale Technical Institute. He spent his career working as a heavy diesel mechanic and was still employed by Duquesne Light when he became ill. Bruce enjoyed working on cars, watching car races, playing with his boxer dogs and spending time with his beloved family. He will be fondly remembered by his family for his generous spirit and wry sense of humor which he maintained throughout his illness. Friends and family will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 2-8 p.m. where a funeral prayer will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Sylvester Church at 10:30.
