Obituary For Bruno Dellana

February 4, 1937 - March 6, 2016

Dellana, Bruno, age 79, on Sunday, March 6, 2016, of Whitehall. Beloved husband of 54 years to Connie (Ricciardi); loving father of Dawn Dellana, the late Dean Dellana and David (survived by Margaret) Dellana; proud Pap Pap of Nicolas Dellana; brother of Yolanda Hoynoski and the late Josephine Angotti. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends. Bruno dedicated his entire life to the American labor movement, and has enriched the quality of life for thousands of workers and their families. He served as Vice-President, Pennsylvania AFL-CIO (1972-2000), AFSCME International Vice-President (1996-2000), AFSCME District Council 84 Director (1982-2000), the Allegheny County Central Labor Council Man of the Year (2000), along with many other positions and awards within the labor industry. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Wednesday from 3-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Paul of the Cross Monastery at 11:00 a.m. If desired, family suggests contributions to Inpatient Hospice United, Allegheny Health Network, 4818 Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15224.

    I will miss Bruno's vivacious spirit but praise God that He let Bruno spend time with us here on earth! I am thankful for the impact he had on our family and pray for peace and comfort for Connie and all who knew him.
