Obituary for Carol Ann (Dougherty) Lloyd

Age 75, of Pittsburgh, passed away on July 17, 2020. She was born to the late Edward and Betty Dougherty on January 28, 1945 in Hawthorne, Pennsylvania. Carol graduated from nursing school in Cleveland, Ohio. She was married to her loving husband Evan Edward Lloyd for over 53 years. Carol is survived by her daughter, Alyssa (Steve) Lenzinger, daughter Angela (Kevin) O’Donnell, and her son Evan (Kelly). Carol found great joy in spending time with her 9 grandchildren, Corinne, Nicholas and Christa Lenzinger, and Kaitlyn (Tyler) Theobald, Megan, Erin, Joseph, Gabrielle and Shannon O’Donnell. She is also survived by her siblings Janice (Paul) Deak, Edward J. Dougherty, Cathy (David) Hogue, Bill Dougherty and many other family members.

She had an inspirational devotion to her Catholic faith and was a Third Order Franciscan. She was a very active member of the Padre Pio prayer group and was a “Spiritual Warrior” that constantly fought to maintain the traditions and integrity of the Catholic church. She loved her family with all of her heart and always looked forward to time spent together. She was an excellent homemaker, avid crafter, belonged to the prayer shawl ministry, crocheted, knitted, and sewed. Carol had a persistent inner strength that guided her throughout the years. She had a compassionate presence and approachable personality that enabled her to make friends easily everywhere she went. Carol will be sadly missed by all.

To her family, Carol Ann was one of the most genuinely kind hearted that I've had the pleasure of knowing. She had a special way of listening to you that was very comforting. And by the time you were finished, you realized that you already had the answer. Carol always had time to give to others, no matter her personal issues.. I pray that her guidance will to continue to guide all of you and may her presence continue to be with you all daily.. Love and prayers always, Our deepest sympathies, Stacie &Chris Rohrer
