Obituary For Carole Lynn Takach

On Wednesday, January 6, 2021, of Providence Point, formerly of Mt. Lebanon.

Wife of the late Jim Takach; survived by her cousins Patsy Outrakis, Bill Lawry and special friend Susan Devlin. Carole worked with Gimbels Department Store in marketing and display. She graduated from Penn State University and stayed an avid Penn State football fan. She loved dogs, especially poodles, was a champion online shopper, avid gardener and freelance writer. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 10-11 a.m. at which time a funeral service will be held in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Humane Animal Rescue, 1101 Western Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15233.

    Beautiful write up and picture of Carole. I only met her a few times with Jim at South Hills. One memorial event was the member member dinner with Jim and Carole and my wife Cheryl along with a few other members and wives. We had a great time with all the lobster we could eat. Jim was a good friend and golfing buddy, and it was very sad when Jim passed a few year back, but given the Penn State connection, they are both now enjoying the Nittany Lions from Heaven.
