Age 68, of Bethel Park, formerly Brentwood, ended her long battle with cancer with peace and dignity, on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.
Carolyn is survived by her five sisters Louise (late Edward) George, Marilyn (John) Tramontina, Nancy (Joe Cain) Adamcyk, Linda (Robert) Musulin and Eileen (Rudy) Lago; her twin brother Michael (Joyce) Adamcyk; thirteen nieces and nephews: Eddie, Jeff and Jennifer George; Bryan and Adrienne (Peterson) Tramontina; Alex and Nicole (Stanton) Adamcyk; Malorie, Kirsten and Trevor Musulin; Alexandra (Packham), Grant and Camille Lago; ten great-nieces and nephews; Christian, Johnathan, Eddie, Joey, Nicholas, Connor, Brendan, Sloane, Finn, Violet and one great niece on the way; one great-great-nephew Ryder; as well as many friends and coworkers, her passing will leave a giant hole in all our hearts. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Viola (Fitzgerald) Adamcyk.
Carolyn was an inspiration to us all with her courage to face adversity that life handed her with a truly positive spirit and amazing grace. She was devoted to her family, always at every family event or celebration. She loved hanging out with her sisters, particularly going on their annual trek to the Christmas Tree Store. Known as Aunt Kay Kay to her nieces and nephews she made each of them feel extra special with a particular little something she shared with each of them.
It was Carolyn's wish that there be no visitation or service. Arrangements were lovingly and privately handled by the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227. In lieu of flowers the family suggest a donation to the Magee-Women’s Research Institute and Foundation, or the charity of your choice in her memory.

Dear Adamcyk Family - I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Carolyn at EY and she was always such a pleasure to be around. She always shared such loving stories of her family and nieces and nephews. We loved to talk about our "Finns" since I have a son named Finn. My thoughts and prayers are with you!

Carolyn and I worked together at Ernst & Young, she was a very sweet person and whenever I had a trivia question, I knew I could depend on her to help me figure out the answer. It wasn't uncommon for me to go out pick us up Chinese food because we both loved China Town Inn. She'll be missed for her ambition and can-do spirit.

I am so sorry to hear of Kallies passing. She was a dear friend from Pennsbury for many years and even rented her condo to me for a year. Fortunately I was able to talk to her about a year ago and she was fighting the good fight! God bless and keep her in His arms. My condolences to the whole family. Yvonne Pelino, Cle, Ohio

Michael (Me Buko) Louise, Marilyn, Nancy, Linda and Eileen, This is such heartbreaking news. I remember when Mr. Deasy walked two new students, the Adamcyk twins into Ms. Toderoff's class and Carolyn sat next to Kim T and Michael sat next to me. Kim and I made friends with them for a lifetime. Many years later I would move to California. and I was at a winery in Napa, and I heard my name and turned around and it was Kallie and Linda. I said what are you doing here, and she said we flew to San Francisco, rented a car and came to Napa to go wine tasting. The odds of us running into each other at that place at that exact time is astronomical. About 9 years ago she called me and said she was at a wedding in Mendocino, and she was checking out of her hotel at 11:00 the next day and she had about six hours until her flight left San Francisco and she said any chance she could see me. I said yes, meet me at my daughter's home in Santa Rosa. I took her to lunch at the Tides Restaurant in Bodega Bay where the Hitchcock classic "The Birds" was filmed. I took her to the one room schoolhouse from the movie and I took a picture of her standing on the steps in front of it. She loved that. We then took a drive up the coast to whale watchers point at "Goat Rock" where I took the attached picture of her. I know we both cherished the memory of that day. I am heartbroken over the news of her losing her battle with cancer. Amy and I give our sympathy to all of you. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
