Obituary For Casimir Leo Schuler

May 27, 1926 - September 23, 2014

Schuler, Casimir Leo, on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 of Castle Shannon. Beloved husband of 65 years to Clara M. (Diehl) Schuler; loving and cherished father of Christine M. Buffkin, Cheryl K. Schuler, Cassy Phillips, and Mary Lou Schuler-Karr; proud grandfather of Dan Brandt and Chad Brandt; son of the late Andrew and Clara Schuler; brother of Clare Larkin, Gerard (Ann) Schuler, Regis (Lorraine) Schuler, and the late Joseph Schuler and Marie Robinek (Schuler); cousin to Raymond Schuler; uncle to many nieces and nephews. Cas served in the Navy from 1941 to 1944. He was a graduate of Conley Trade School and owned his own automotive business for 50 years until he retired and began driving school buses for the Baldwin Whitehall School District. He was an accomplished pilot and was a proud member of the Civil Air Patrol and belonged to the American Legion in Pleasant Hills. He had the extraordinary talent of becoming an instant best friend to everyone he met. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Friday morning at 9:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Winifred Church at 10:00 a.m.
