Obituary For Cecilia A. Mocello

Mocello, Cecilia A. (Muszynski), age 78, passed away peacefully at home, on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, of Brentwood, formerly of South Side.

Beloved wife of 57 years to Patrick Mocello; loving mother of Rene' Keane and Randy (Tracy) Mocello; cherished Mamusz of Caroline Keane and Tyler and Jordan Mocello; daughter of the late Martin "Benny" and Theresa Muszynski. Cecilia was the former co-owner of Benny's Flower Shop and a longtime secretary at both St. Josaphat Church and Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Polish Hill. She was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith and loved all things Polish. At Christmastime, Cecilia decorated as many trees as possible. She enjoyed spending time with her loving family and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Friday, September 3, 2021 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Saturday morning at 9:00. Mass of Christian Burial in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church at 10:00 a.m.

Mom, Dad and I enjoyed Talking to Mrs. Mocello at St. Joe's and Immaculate Heart of Mary either at St. Theresa Novena or during Church visitation during Holy Thursday! She will be missed. May Eternal Rest be Granted to Cecilia O Lord. My Perpetual Light Shine upon Her. Ma Cecilia Soul and all of the Souls of the Faithfully departed Rest in Peace. Amen. Zenchak Family.

    Sr. Jolenta Sredinski

    Cecilia was a kind person to help in ways that were truly her. A big POLISH heart! When my brother Fr. Joseph Sredzinski needed a breakfast after celebrating Mass, she provided him with a banquet. Her acceptance of people at the office and to the parish Immaculate Heart of Mary were an example of POLISH hospitality. Bog Zaplacz! May God give her heaven. May Cecilia rest in His loving arms. My deepest sympathy to her family who she loved very much. Go in God's peace!

    Rene', I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I will always remember your mom coming back from communion, and she knew little of me, but knew you and I were friends. She always always smiled at me. It warmed my heart. I know the feeling of losing your mom. Having lost mine this year too.
