Obituary For Charles A. Bayer, Jr. "Bud"

December 24, 1934 - March 4, 2017

Charles A. "Bud" Bayer Age 82, died peacefully at home on March 4th. Born December 24, 1934, he was the devoted husband of 62 years to Sandy Bordone Bayer; father to Debby (Eugene) Rebholz, Benny (Paul) Kruger, Cindy (Jeff) Reiland and Renee (Keith) Gruendl; brother Earl "Rusty" Schuckman. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Elizabeth Bayer and his brother Robert. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Bud proudly served his union for over 50 years and was a member of Bricklayer & Allied Craft Workers Local 9, Local 26, and Local 31, and proudly served as Union President for many years. Friends will be received on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. at John F. Slater Funeral Home Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road. A funeral prayer will be held on Thursday morning at 9:00. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 3609 Washington Ave, Finleyville. Burial to follow at Jefferson Memorial Park.

    Sandy, we are so sorry to hear of Buds passing. He was a great guy. He will be greatly missed. We will be unable to visit because we are living in Florida but we will be praying for him. Love George & Elaine Koch.
