Obituary For Charles "Chuck" R. Hickey

Age 91, on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, of Brentwood.

Beloved husband of the late Mary Agnes (Brown) Hickey; loving father of Linda (Jimmy) Hubsch, Nancy (the late Jim) Bartram, and Chuck D. (Lori); grandfather of Lacia (Hubsch) Suvak, David Hubsch, Charlie Hickey, Leah Hickey, and Christian Bartram; brother of Laverne Dulski, William Hickey, Ginny Rostek, and Kathleen Collins. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Chuck Hickey was a worker! He supported his family by sometimes working 3 jobs at a time, primarily as a milkman at Snee Dairy and then later, retiring from Schneider’s Dairy. He was an active member of Brentwood Volunteer Fire Department for years, serving as their cook on Thursday nights for many seasons. He found rest and relaxation at his "home away from home" in Pymatuning, PA. Chuck truly loved the outdoors and nature, along with all animals. Of course, he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. In his later years, everyone that met him was surprised and delighted by his positive, sunny outlook on life. He never complained, finding joy in the simple things of life, particularly his cat, Lady. Due to the current public health crisis, visitations and services will be held privately. Arrangements by the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227.

Hi Nancy sorry to hear about your loss. My wife and I spent a day with Mary and chuck at camp loved seeing them both. Had a nice day talking to them.

Linda, Nancy, Chuck and family. I remember as a small child standing in my parents back yard and seeing your dad flying down Munsey Avenue in his 1960 blue Plymouth Valiant when the Brentwood fire whistle would blow. What a great guy and what fond memories for all of us growing up in the neighborhood. You have our deepest sympathy. Dennis & Amy Kenavey
