Obituary For Charles H. Doerzbacher

June 3, 1930 - December 6, 2017

Doerzbacher, Charles H., age 87, on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 of Whitehall. Beloved husband of 59 years to Marilyn (Lyden); father of Joseph, James, John (Jerry), Jerome, Jeffrey (Paula) and Mary (Michael) Hansen; proud grandfather of 11 and great-grandfather of one; brother of Mildred (Joseph) Simpson and the late Dorothy (William) Metcalfe, Helen (Angus) Duffy and Ann (Pasquale) Melisi. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Charlie was a US Navy Veteran, a long-time, active member of St. Gabriel Parish, and was a member of Plumbers Local #27 for more than 60 years. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Saturday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church at 10:00 a.m. In lieu flowers, family suggests contributions to St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church, 5200 Greenridge Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.

    My deep sympathy and prayers for all the Family. Charles and I were classmates many years ago at Resurrection School in Brookline. A very promising young man who grew, I see, into a wonderful Catholic gentleman. May he rest in peace.
