Obituary For Charles R. Reeves, Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Charles "Charley" Reeves Jr. of Jefferson Hills, PA. on November 6, 2023 at the age of 83.

Charley was the devoted husband of the late Geraldine “Cookie” (Wisniewski) Reeves. Loving father of Jennifer (Daniel) Kerekes, beloved pap of Justi, Carli, and Clay Kerekes, and the proud son of the late Charles R Sr. and Opal Reeves. He was also a dear brother to Ruth (Don) Szalanski and cherished uncle, cousin, friend to many.

Charley's memory lives on through his daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren, and a wide circle of family, friends, neighbors, nieces, and nephews. He shared a special bond with his dear friends, especially Clara, who enriched his life in recent times.

Throughout his life, Charley embraced the world with an adventurous spirit and a heart full of love. He had a passion for golf and reading especially. His curiosity knew no bounds, always eager to learn and explore. Charley spent years berry picking every summer since he was a young boy and was a jelly making connoisseur. Beyond his hobbies, Charley was a gifted conversationalist, engaging anyone he met with genuine interest and warmth. His kindness and strength were evident in every interaction, making everyone around him feel special.

Most importantly, Charley was a man overflowing with love. His devotion to his family knew no bounds, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He found joy in the everyday, appreciating the beauty of life in all its forms. His laughter was infectious, and his smile could light up any room. Charley's presence was a gift to everyone he encountered, a reminder of the beauty of love and the power of a caring soul. Charley's love, kindness, and morality will continue to inspire us all and he will be missed dearly.

Friends will be received at the John F.Slater Funeral Home, 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of closing prayer at 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38015.

Farewell to one of the most kind, interesting, interested, giving, intelligent, funny, quick-witted, well-read, open-minded, and overall coolest people I have ever met in my life. I am grateful for every conversation, every dinner, and every time he made me feel like the most important person in the room. (He made everyone in the room feel that way.)

I will miss my Uncle Charley so much. He was one of the most wonderful, warm, engaging people I've ever known. I cherished every conversation I ever had with him, the way he smiled, his generosity of spirit. Truly, there's never been anyone like him. Love to Jennifer and the family, and thanks for sharing this extraordinary man with all of us. I feel lucky to have had him in my life.
