Obituary For Charles V. Schorr

Formerly of Whitehall, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at William Penn Care Center. He was born in Duquesne on April 25, 1935 to the late Victor and Loretta Schorr.

Predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Virginia "Jenny" Schorr, and his special friend, Lois Brozovich; beloved father of Kathleen (John) Green, Colleen (Reed) Kish and Arleen (Paul) Long; adoring grandfather of Kaitlyn (Brian) Petrakis, Matthew Green, Charlie and Justin Kish and Timothy and Christopher Long; he especially loved visits with his great-grandchildren, John William "Yianni" and Kosta Theo "Gus" Petrakis; brother of Sister Loretta Jean Schorr, CDP and the late Alma Johnson, Eleanor Galvin, Dorothy Williams and Mary Schorr. Also survived by his extended family.

Chuck attended Penn State University and enjoyed working as a draftsperson for many years, finally retiring at age 81 from working for his brother-in-law Ron Jones at Baldwin Asphalt. He loved spending time with his family and had many talents that included making stained glass gifts for others. He was proud to be a member of Bethel Masonic Lodge 761 and was scheduled to receive the Award for Meritorious Service from the Valley of Pittsburgh. He was always willing to help others in any way he could.

There will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Thomas A' Becket Church followed by interment in Jefferson Memorial Park. Arrangements handled by the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227. The family would like to thank Promedica Hospice, William Penn Care and William Penn Senior Suites for all their thoughtful care.
