Obituary For Cheryl (Foytick) Barry

Age 62, of Whitehall, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, peacefully after succumbing to a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Foytick (Ochtun). She leaves behind her father, Joseph Foytick; sister, Ann (Kevin) Plecenik and brother, Joseph (Sherrie) Foytick. She is the mother of two, Brenna (Ryan) Robb and Briar (Elizabeth) Barry. She is the grandmother to four children, Adeline, Benson, Callan and Quinn. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and neighbors. Cheryl taught 7th grade at St. Thomas More in Bethel Park and 4th grade at St. Bernard in Indiana, PA. As her MS progressed, she worked at the Indiana Library coordinating children's activities. In her youth she loved playing the piano. She was a devoted daughter, sister, and mother to her family. Cheryl's belief in God provided her with the strength, will, and positive outlook on life that helped her adapt to her ever-changing life with MS. Family and friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Monday, September 19, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Tuesday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1501 Reedsdale Street, Suite 105, Pittsburgh, PA 15233.

Uncle Joe, Ann and Kevin, Joseph and Sherrie - We are so saddened by Cheryl's passing. She showed such courage during all the years she battled Multiple Sclerosis. She was blessed to have all of you - and Aunt Carol - by her side. Certainly she is in heaven now, but all of YOU were her guardian angels here on Earth. You have our deepest sympathy - Lisa, Preston, and Ken
