Obituary For Christian Charles Sluka

Age 23, of Dormont, passed tragically on Saturday, September 21, 2024.

Cherished son of Sheila Hein and Jason Sluka; adored brother of Julian Sluka, Jonah Sluka and Jayden Anker; grandson of Mary Clemente, the late Richard (Sue) Hein, Carlene Sluka and the late Donald Sluka; nephew of Marsha (Scot) Goisse; cousin of Noah Goisse and Sydney Goisse. Also survived by his uncles and friends. Christian enjoyed spending time outdoors. He loved hiking, kayaking, motorcycling and dirt biking. He was a gifted musician who played multiple instruments that led him to being a founding member and bassist of his band, Osprey, which meant the world to him. Aside from his family, Christian is survived by his beloved childhood friends, band mates, hiking friends and his coworkers. He had a soft spot for animals, rescuing and adopting any in need. Suzie, Professor X, Pee Paws, Mittens and Cookie are living proof of that. Christian constantly put others before himself, especially his little brothers whom he loved dearly. Those who knew Christian knew love, and he will be missed. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 2-8 p.m. where a funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

I remember Christian as an amazing musician and artist but what comes to mind first when I hear his name is what a sweet, kind young man that was easy to talk with! The first time I heard him play guitar I was honestly blown away! That was when he was in Middle school...natural talent!! I truly believe what his mom said about him being the "heart & soul" of their family. I lost my oldest too. 4 years ago, she was 28, so I completely relate to the pain & heartbreak you all are feeling. All I can say is pray & ask everyone for prayers! I will be praying for all of you & please know you have my deepest condolences. Sheila, mom to mom please contact me if you need someone to talk to.

Christian was the first person I met when I moved to sharpsburg and I would later start 1st grade with him in my class. From then we would forever be linked and inseparable. He was one of, if not my closest and longest friend. It's hard to think about how life will even go on but he would want us to celebrate and not dwell on the negative. So with that I say thank you brother, I'll see you soon. I love you.
