Obituary For Christine E. (Denk) Reiss

Age 55, unexpectedly on Saturday, September 20, 2025, of Baldwin.

Beloved wife of William "Bill" Reiss; proud and cherished mother of Kayla and Jacob Reiss; loving daughter of Frank and Darlene (Hochendoner) Denk; sister of Frank Jr. (Donna) Denk, Stephen (Jennifer) Denk and Matthew (Kim) Denk. Also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Christine, known as Chris, Chrissy, or Mother Dear to her children, was kind, loving, patient, generous, and overall selfless. She was the most wonderful wife and mother to her husband and children as well as a great daughter and sister. She took care of everyone around her without hesitation. She offered a helping hand, loving embrace, words of encouragement, and much more to anyone in need. She found joy in the happiness of others. She was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 24, but this did not define her. She used her diagnosis, strength, and resilience as a tool to support others. She was intelligent, motivated, and a hard worker, working for United Healthcare for more than 30 years. She loved animals. She left behind 3 cats and is preceded in death by 2 cats and 1 dog. She was an angel on this earth, who now resides in Heaven.

Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 5-8 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Saturday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Sylvester Church at 10:30 a.m. If desired, family suggests contributions to Cali Cats Rescue, 2776 South Park Road, Bethel Park, PA 15102.

Chrissy, as we all knew her, a warrior, through her determination and love of life she fought everyday with courage, always saying, "I'm feeling better, and my faith is strong to trust in the Lord." Truly an angel on earth and now a beautiful heavenly one from above, one day we will all be united. May Chrissy's Family's be strong in faith to ease their pain, and as we all say to our beloved, Rest In Peace Chrissy as you forever are held in the arms of our Lord and Savior. Amen. Please know that I'm holding all of the you close in my heart as you face this unimaginable loss. Your wife, mom, daughter and sister was such a special person. I have so many memories from when I was younger, especially those summer days that were spent at Aunt Darlene and Uncle Hank's swimming. I know words can't ease the grief that you're carrying, but I hope you can feel how deeply she was loved and admired by everyone lucky enough to know her. Her spirit lives on in all of you; through your love for each other and the memories you all share.

There are no words that can truly capture the loss of Chris. She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Chris cherished her family—Bill, Kayla, and Jacob were her whole world. The way she cared for her mother-in-law and family was nothing short of inspiring. Her love ran deep, and it showed in everything she did. From the moment we became neighbors, Chris embraced us like family. She ran out to greet our little ones with open arms, and I remember her leaning down and saying "are you my new neighbors" while scooping them up and putting their feet in her pool. Over the past 11 years, she treated them as if they were her own. Her kindness was never performative—it was genuine, effortless, and woven into who she was. Thoughtful surprises would appear at our door, always with love and intention. Chris was the kind of mom we all admire—fiercely devoted, endlessly proud of Kayla and Jacob, and always setting the bar high with grace and warmth. She radiated joy, always smiling, always lifting others up. The last time I saw her, she hugged me and asked how I was doing—coaching me through my own battle, even while carrying her own. That was Chris: selfless, compassionate, and always thinking of others. We will miss seeing her computer screen glowing in the early morning hours, her encouraging smile, and our back-and-forth deck talks. Her presence was a gift, and her legacy lives on in the love she gave so freely. Fly high friend.
