Obituary for Claire B. (Fiedler) Wesling

Age 88, of Baldwin Borough, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 of natural causes at Paramount Senior Living Center in Bethel Park as gracefully as she led her life. Claire was born October 31, 1931, in Carrick, PA. She was the daughter of the late Howard and Stella Fiedler, sister to the late Robert, Norma, Howard and Albert. Saint Claire as her siblings often called her, attended St. Basil High School where she was regularly pulled from classes to either teach fellow students or do the artwork for the yearbook. This is also where she met the love of her life, Ralph G. Wesling. They had a love story of 65 years, the likes of which not many shared. Claire was an active member and Eucharistic minister of St. Albert the Great Church. She also was a volunteer librarian at the school for many years. After raising her children, she took a part-time job at Coldcomp as a receptionist until she retired. She was a loving and caring mother for her children, a beloved grandmother and community volunteer. Claire Bear is survived by her husband Ralph Wesling, daughters Kathy (Kevin) Smith and Janet (Paul) Hensler, sons Ralph H. (Heather) and James G. (Robin); grandchildren Kelly (Adam), Kaitlin (Scott), George, Jake, James and Nate, as well as four great-grandchildren. Due to the Covid-19 virus and county regulations, services will be held privately. Arrangements handled by the John F. Slater Funeral Home, (412)881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227. In lieu of flowers, donations in Claire's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association - Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 1100 Liberty Ave., Suite E-201, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
