Age 98, passed peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, of Overbrook. Beloved husband of the late Marie M. Emmerich; loving father of Karen (John) Bender, Kathleen, Kenneth, Maureen (Joe) Yvorra and Denise (Donald) Sauter; proud Pap of Megan and Joe Yvorra; brother of Rege and Joe Emmerich and the late Norm, Harry and Kenny Emmerich. Also survived by in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends. Cy served his country in the United States Army during WWII where he received multiple medals of commendation including the French Legion of Honor award. He was also a long-time employee of the U.S. Postal Service. Cy was most happy spending time with his family. The Emmerich family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers from Amedisys Hospice for their compassion and the wonderful relationships that were formed, especially with Billi and Toni. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 2:45 p.m. in the John F. Slater Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Cyril C. Emmerich
