Age 84, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, June 18, 2026, of Whitehall.

Beloved husband of 60 years to the late Karen Davic; loving father of Leah M. (Bob) Payne, Daniel (Susan Scharf) Davic and Brian "Patch" (Linda) Davic; cherished Pap of Lauren Davic, Corey (Korie) Payne, Marissa Payne, Remy Davic, Brina Davic and Derek Los; brother of Lorraine (the late Dick) Recktenwald and the late Marylea (Ed) Hartman; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and childhood friends "The Gang". Dan was a surveyor and worked in his trade which he learned during his time as a Navy Seabee. He was incredibly active and loved the outdoors. He will be deeply missed but will be happy to be together again with his beloved Karen. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Monday, June 22, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Tuesday morning at 8:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Triumph of the Holy Cross at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, 139 Gill Hall Rd, Jefferson Hills, PA 15025.
