Obituary For Darleen "Dee" Miller

Age 88, formerly of Baldwin-Whitehall area, loving mother of her four beloved daughters, and adoring wife to her forever love husband Ron Miller, who has been waiting for her in heaven, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Darleen was born September 1, 1933 to the late Harry and Freda Jordan. She was the loving sister of Charles (Jan) Jordan and the late Harry (Sue) Jordan and Beverly Jordan.
She and Ron met when teenagers and their love story continued throughout their 64 years of marriage. They were best friends, loving companions and their love for each other was an example to all who were blessed to know them. Although enjoying happiness in her life after his passing, her joy of living was with her Ron and she looked forward to joining him and to walk once again hand in hand. They both shared a love of family and family was their happiness.
She was a woman of faith, positive thinking, artistic, an avid reader, accomplished crossword puzzle solver, bread maker, pie baker, Granny soup cook and a competitive Scrabble enthusiast. She canned and preserved all the fruits and vegetables she served to her family. She loved the outdoors, sunshine on her face and walks. Her home was open and she was Mummy/Granny to the many friends of her daughters.
She loved being a mother and basked in the pride, accomplishments, and love for each one and their husbands who became her sons. Wendy (Ken) Siefert, Rona (Dave) Stockey, Karen (Mark) Vinoverski and Arlene (Dan) Saffer. Each were her bliss and motherhood was her greatest joy. Their utmost gift to her were her grandchildren Justin (Anne) Leidy, Ben (Chrissy) Leidy, Douglas (Sarah) Stockey, Danielle (Chuck) Dicks, Jesse (Courtney) Siefert, Kendra (Aaron) Phillips, Caleb Vinoverski, Amanda (Andrew) Albright, Matthew (Emily) Saffer and Nathan (Caroline) Saffer. Her blessings continued in her life with her 15 great grandchildren and she enjoyed and looked forward to updates, photos and visits with each of them.
Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday, May 1, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Monday morning at 10:00.
