Son of the late Louis and Esther Bernthaler; cherished brother of Louis (Portia) Bernthaler, Marilyn (the late Stanley) Platek and the late Thomas (Kathy) Bernthaler; proud uncle of Carrie Rosko, Bethann Bernthaler, Jason (Sarah) Platek, Gina (Matt) Myers and Tom (Kayleigh) Bernthaler; great-uncle to Noelle, Samantha and Wesley. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday, July 2, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of his blessing service at 7:45 p.m. David will be laid to rest privately in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
