Obituary For David J. Benz

Sadly, after coping with several medical issues, David J. Benz, of Whitehall passed away on May 10, 2024 at the age of 83.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Mary Ann, of 57 years who was by his side thru good and bad days. He was the loving and proud father of his two sons, Todd (Elizabeth) of Maine and Timothy of the Lehigh Valley. He was also the brother of the late Richard Benz. After serving two years in the United States Army, he was employed by Pennsylvania American Water and retired after 36 years of service. David and his family were truly grateful for special friends who were always there to help him when needed most. David will be missed and fondly remembered by all. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, PA 15227 Tuesday, May 14, 2024 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Wednesday morning at 9:15.     To the Benz family, I would like to extend my deepest condolences for your loss. I had the pleasure of spending many mornings with Dave up at the 7-11. We would talk about everything from how the world has changed in his lifetime to his son's accomplishments. He was very proud of his family. I always enjoyed our conversations. I will definitely miss Dave. Rest in peace my friend.
