Of Brentwood, age 67, crossed over on Sunday, September 27, 2026.

She was the beloved wife of 42 years to David R. Kushner and the loving mother of Katelyn L. (Damon) Neal and Kellen D. Kushner. She was “Gree” to the two brightest stars in her life, her grandsons, Maxwell and Bryce. She prepared her children and grandchildren by showing them how to love deeply, be strong, put family first, and live life to the fullest; her legacy and love will live on through them. “Debbie” was preceded in death by her parents Robert M. and Bette V. (Pfeiffer) Fox. She is survived by her brother Thomas (Patricia) Fox, sisters Roberta Boone and Margaret (Henry) Bourg, beloved nieces Pamela (Tyrone) Canty and Victoria (Garvey) Butler, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews whom she loved deeply. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Linda (Rodney) Zakowski and Nancy (Kathy) Kushner-Nobles, and brothers-in-law Joseph Kushner and Robert (MaryAnn) Kushner. Debbie was employed for almost 35 years at Cappetta Dentistry where she enjoyed her job and daily interaction with patients. She had many passions in life; among them were traveling, photography, and cooking. Her pasta with vodka sauce was always amazing and made from scratch. Sunday family dinners were legendary. She earned her photography degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and one of her photos hangs in the Southside Pretzel Shop. Debbie’s favorite travel destinations were Yosemite National Park, Dunedin, Florida, and Venice, Italy. She valued friendship and stayed in touch with her lifelong girlfriends who provided Debbie with comfort, companionship, love, laughter, dancing, and delicious food during her courageous battle against multiple myeloma and aphasia. Her family would especially like to thank the following medical personnel for giving Debbie the strength and the ability to carry on with her dignity intact: her PCP Cheryl Hranicky, CRNP, AHN Jefferson Hospital Oncology, the AHN outpatient palliative care team, the CVS Pharmacy Staff of Clairton Blvd, the dedicated AHN Jefferson ER department nurses, the wonderful nurses at the AHN Jefferson Chemo Infusion Center, AHN in home nurse Amanda, and the compassionate nurses from AHN Hospice especially nurse Maria, Dr Francis A. Cappetta DDS, and Baldwin EMS. Also taking great care of Debbie was her favorite hairdresser, Kathy from Headturners Salon. Friends will be received at the John F.
