My sincere condolences go out to the Hamler family. I remember cousin Denny from Kingsboro/Craighead Streets as a little girl on the Mount. Having aunts, uncles and cousins growing up on the same street was pretty cool. I remember when he left for Vietnam as my father, Uncle Tom, would spend a considerable amount of time at his sister, Melba's house. With the passing of my father in 2007, we reconnected as he wrote on my father's obituary about our numerous fishing trips as my dad took everyone fishing in the neighborhood. Also, about his retirement, grandkids and new house in the Burgh. I was so happy for you cuz. Denny kept in touch with Uncle Paul when he was alive making sure he was ok. You were a good and happy soul as well as a genuinely nice person, cousin Denny. I'm glad we reconnected on FB. You will be missed as you are loved by many. God bless you cuz and RIP. 🙏🙏 Denise (Crowley) Ranelli.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Dennis' family and loved ones. I met Dennis while working at the FAA. We kept in touch after he retired mainly through Facebook. He was never short of checking in on me now and then and posting a thumbs up to the FB postings of my family and life experiences. He stayed connected!! He was so kind and not short of any humor. I have much admiration for the love he displayed for his family. What a blessing! May his memories bring joy and peace to his family. He will be missed and never forgotten!

I worked with Dennis for years at the FAA. He was such a proud father and grandfather. He was a wonderful mentor and surrogate in the absence of my own family living far away. Our families grew in parallel and we shared many stories and pictures as we learned together. I was so grateful that we remained in touch through facebook after his retirement. May his warm supportive kind and humorous nature live on through those who knew him and his influence shine brightly through those who loved him. Deepest sympathy and encouragement.
