August 29, 1962 - May 21, 2019

Cavill, Dennis W., age 56, on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 of Baldwin Borough.

Beloved husband of Susan (Joseph) Cavill; father of Douglas (Erica), Nicholas and Eric (Nicole); grandfather of Dixon, Camden and the late Maxwell; son of the late Clifford and Marjorie (Hungerman); brother of Richard (Karen) Cavill. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Friday, May 24, 2019 from 12-2 and 4-8 p.m. where a blessing service will be held in the chapel on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m.

    Dear Susan and Family, My name is Mark Cavill and I am a first cousin of Dennis. I was born and raised in Baldwin Borough having graduated Baldwin HS in 1970. I am the son of Charles Cavill whose brother is Clifford (we always called him Uncle Tink). I am very sorry to hear of your loss and will pray for you and your family. Sadly, I did not know Dennis, Richard, Mary Ann and Larry - for our two families never seemed to get together very often. This, for me, is now so hard to believe since we all grew up less than one mile apart from each other. My wife and I have now lived in Indianapolis since 1982. We do travel back to PA from time to time and I hope that we can meet you some day. My sincere condolences to you and your family.

    Loved that man, he was my Brother. We grew up together are were best friends throughout the years. Every time we got together it was if no time had passed. I will miss him.

    I meet Dennis too few times in my life, but when I have, he was always a welcoming and light-hearted individual. But what I can attest to is the way in which he raised his children. I have been great friends with Eric my entire life and I have never known him to be malicious or disrespectful to any person he has come across. I am sure Dennis had a lot to do with instilling these characters traits into his children, and their subsequent children and the world over are better for it. Here's to the Cavill's, an amazing family that will continue long into the future.

    It is with great sadness that I learned of Denny's passing. I work at Bayer and would see Denny at different times throughout the day. He was good for a joke or a funny story. He loved his family and spoke of all of you often. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family now. May you find peace. Rest in peace, Denny.
